Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on 24th November 2020. As well as presenting a concept plan of the building that we have contracted to purchase in Fortitude Valley, we will be recommending to the AGM that three of our members be confirmed as Life Members of QIA. They are current President Jeffrey Spender,  Vice President Seamus Sullivan and Buzz Ennis from the Queensland Irish Association Pipe Band. The AGM will also be asked to approve the recommendation by the Board that His Grace Archbishop Mark Coleridge, and His Excellency Mr Breandán Ó Caollaí, pictured, be confirmed as joint patrons of the QIA.…

Join us for a meet-up in November

Queensland Irish Association invites all members and potential members to join us at Grand Central Hotel on Ann Street, Brisbane on Friday, 13th November, from 4pm. Vale FT “Bill” Hanley OAM CyC

  Francis Thomas “Bill” Hanley was born at Millaa Millaa on the Atherton Tableland in 1922. He was educated at Ellinjaa Road State School and St Augustine’s Marist Brothers, Cairns. In 1942, Bill enlisted in the AIF and rose to the rank of Sergeant in the Royal Australian Engineers 5th Division.…
